Sander SchatMemberIf even the forum is getting hacked unnoticed, i do feel it is time to leave Piklist for what it is…
Thanks for all the hard work!
I loved it.Time to move forward again with other frameworks.

camilomejiaParticipantI have the same concern. The last commit on Github was five months ago to close an issue, but was made on the develop branch and not yet merged to the master branch. I found another bug on my last project and solved it with the help of comments in this forum, but that bug is still unsolved on the production release. So yes, this appear to be an abandoned.
What framework do you choose to replace piklist?

Fernando LourençoMemberPiklist is dead

IcoMemberYes, this is one of the things I feared most… Being so good and also free many times leads to dead of a framework, if not backed by big players. All my projects rely on Piklist and I’m really concerned about being abandoned.

Fernando LourençoMemberIn April of this year, I had suggested a paid version

IcoMemberI think most of the developers, that rely on Piklist for all their projects ( me including ) would willingly pay $100 for a one-time purchase, or $25 a year, if we know the piklist is supported and regularly updated.

Fernando LourençoMemberThe community has not grown, is dispersing, and the business model of the developers seems to have another focus.
This dependence places us as insecure intermediaries.
Security is provided with constant updates, whether from fixes or enhancements, extensive documentation and code routine examples, and efficient support.
The market is competitive, and paid versions seem better structured. The dedication and commitment is greater. -

ScottMemberI’d rather the devs keep doing what they are doing (Piklist 0.10 is actively being developed on Github) rather than wasting valuable time with the forums. Those of us that have some time to help could pitch in on the forums and answer questions. It does look like some spam accounts have gotten through and posted some junk but overall things are still working fine.

IcoMemberWell, last commits were from 7 months ago ( ages in digital world ), and no new releases, no news, nothing. I have much respect for the Piklist team, but I also need to know if will be supported or not, because it is very important for my business. Just official statement that they’re supporting new Piklist releases will be good, but… just silence.

Mehdi SalemMemberYes, we need to know guys…
I would pay a yearly fee with no hesitation to get dev going on this project because it is so awesome to let it die. -

Mehdi SalemMemberAnd indeed, the forum looks spammed for sure, hmmmm….
These things can happen from time to time ok but no cleanup is not a good sign…
This is worrying I admit but is everything happening only on Github now? WordPress does not allow new Frameworks on the repo… is this related? is WordPress not allowing framework devs to update their plugins anymore?-
November 20, 2017 at 2:59 pm #8447
camilomejiaParticipantThis is the framework I switched for my next project https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/cmb2/ That framework was updated 6 days ago, so I think lack of updates on Picklist doesn’t have anything to do with a WordPress decision.

SteveKeymasterHi all–
Sorry, we haven’t responded quickly. We’ve been busy working with our clients… and every one of them has Piklist installed.
Kevin and I build websites and web apps with Piklist every day… seriously, EVERY day.
Feel free to check out the Beta release and let us know what you think >

Mehdi SalemMemberThanks Steve!
The beta on Github fixed the php warning I got after the WP 4.9 update, cool!
All good.
The truth is that I would rather try to patch piklist my self moving forward rather than having to use ACF or CMB2 again, they are both great but once you play with piklist, moving to less power is difficult…Long life to the king, cause it ain’t dead yet!
Cheers!
