cotswoldphotoMemberI have the above plugin installed, but if I install Piklist, it re-builds the profile page and the authenticator settings have gone. Is there a way to stop piklist doing this? I have Piklist installed so that I can use WordPress Helpers

SteveKeymaster@cotswoldphoto– Do you have the Piklist Demos turned on? If so, turn them off at Piklist > Add-ons >

cotswoldphotoMemberYes, but it won’t turn off. I click disable, save, and it is still on??

SteveKeymaster@cotswoldphoto– That’s the first time this has been reported. It might be a plugin conflict. We can research this for you.
-Go to Tools
-Helpers
-Develop Tab
-Check “Show System Information” and save.
-Tools, again
-System
-Copy that block of data and email to us at: [email protected]We will check and see if there is a plugin conflict.

cotswoldphotoMemberGuess what?
That won’t save either. So it won’t show System under Tools.

SteveKeymasterAre you comfortable deactivating plugins until you find the conflict?

cotswoldphotoMemberOK. Did that. W3 Total Cache is the conflict (and yes, you could guess that I started at ‘A’). LOL.
BTW. I am sort of sure it can’t be done in WordPress Helpers as it is, but is it possible to introduce Joomla-like control over the meta data display? It allows you to switch it off (as it appears under the title), or individually switch off date and/or author. You can, off course, switch off comments already. Most folk have static pages that really don’t need these showing, I know I do. I am using a less than user friendly plugin that simply hides these using css, but it is a pain to set it up.

SteveKeymasterThank you for helping out. I can’t reproduce the bug with W3 Total Cache. Would you mind exporting your Total Cache settings and emailing to us:
-Under PERFORMANCE. Click on “General Settings”
-Scroll all the way down to the bottom of page.
-Under Export configuration, click “Download”
-Email the file to: [email protected]As for the Joomla question, I don’t fully understand. If you can post screenshots that would probably help.

cotswoldphotoMemberAs to the Joomla thing, that was where we came from before switching to WordPress. Under the title of every post/page in WordPress, appears the date published and author. I figured out how to get rid of the author, but it is SITE wide. Not per post/page. In joomla, on each post and page, you can optionally show or hide the author and date published. WordPress could do with this. Now, there is a plugin called Show Hide Author that works. I just found that. But I didn’t find an equivalent for the date 🙁

cotswoldphotoMemberDo you know what setting was causing it?

SteveKeymasterThere’s seems to be a conflict with APC Object Caching and Piklist. To temporarily fix:
-Click on Performance
-Scroll down to “Object Cache”
-Choose “Disk” from the dropdown and save. You should be able to use Piklist now.
Thank you again for helping us find this bug.
