      We are testing using Piklist, and have noticed the site considerably slows down after it has been activated. The thing is we aren’t even using it for anything yet.

      Page generation time jumps from 2.6s to 13.5 seconds, and memory jumps from 17M to 77M.

      Here are comparisons of load time with and without Piklist. Any thoughts on this?

      Also, you’ll notice DB queries jump from about 100 to 1600!

      Can you tell us a little more about your DB? How many posts records and meta records are there? Are you doing any major meta queries (3 or more meta queries in a query? Seeing your queries jump from 100 to 1600 makes me think you have some big ones)? We have spent some considerable time updating our query enhancements for the upcoming version and if your interested we can send a beta copy your way to see if it resolves the issues.

      Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Kevin. This is a fairly large ecommerce site.

      I’m combing through the queries on the page I sent you and so far haven’t spotted any with multiple meta queries. After activating Piklist however, all of the slow queries are related to PikList_Meta::get_metadata().

      I’d love a copy of the beta if possible. We had been planning on using Piklist on multiple projects for a while, but at this point we are seriously considering looking for alternatives, because the slow down is just not feasible.
