After manually uploading the beta 9.9.6, I got the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/v/e/r/versatal/html/thecharacterwizard/wp-content/plugins/piklist/includes/class-piklist-form.php on line 616

The only way to recover was to delete the piklist folder and start over with the stable version. I have a pretty empty site with not much more than a theme loaded.

@rogerh– Welcome to the Piklist community.

Are there any other Piklist plugins installed? Or any other code that interacts with Piklist?

      No other piklist plugins.

After I started over with a fresh version of piklist, I deactivated and deleted all the other plugins except for the defaults from the install on godaddy. I then activated the demos. When I tried to add a new demo under the “All Demos” tab I got these errors:

Warning: substr_compare() [function.substr-compare]: The length cannot exceed initial string length in /home/content/v/e/r/versatal/html/thecharacterwizard/wp-content/plugins/piklist/includes/class-piklist-form.php on line 1767

@rogerh– We can’t reproduce and you are the only one reporting it. If you change to a WordPress default theme do you still see the issue?

Also, what version of PHP are you running? You can check by using the function phpinfo()
