I installed 0.9.9.1 on a dev site and it didn’t offer to run an update script. As a result, my grouped add-mores are still stored in the old format.

      What I did:

      1. backed up the database
      2. deleted the old Piklist folder (beta 0.9.5v) and moved in the 0.9.9.1 folder
      3. visited a page that displays grouped add-more data

Then I thought that maybe Piklist needs to be deactivated first. So I:

      1. replaced the old version of Piklist
      2. restored the saved DB for a fresh start
      3. deactivated Piklist-dependent plugins
      4. renamed my theme’s piklist parts folder to piklistx
      5. deactivated (the old) Piklist
      6. once again swapped out the old Piklist folder for the new
      7. renamed my theme’s piklistx parts folder to piklist
      8. activated the new Piklist
      9. –> no offer to run update script
      10. visited the Piklist menu, didn’t see any update options

      What next? 🙂

On a hunch, I decided to try it with 0.9.9, and it works. So maybe the functionality got lost in 0.9.9.1?

One tip for anyone who has defined piklist fields inside their theme.

In order to deactivate Piklist, I renamed my theme’s piklist file to piklistx. Then I switched to the new Piklist plugin files, reactivated it, and ran the update. Oops, it didn’t find my theme’s piklist parts so it didn’t run the update on them.

So if you use this method to deactivate Piklist before the upgrade, make sure you switch the name back before running the database update.

Thanks, Steve! Heading for California first thing in the morning so I’ll have to let someone else test this one. 😉 By the time I’m back on the web Saturday morning you’ll probably have another release!
